Before every hike, walk, camping trip, or day on the ranch, give Trail Pup a good shake and spray evenly over your dog's coat. Focus on the legs, chest, belly, and around the tail where outdoor pests are most likely to tag along.
For the face and ears, spray onto your hands or a cloth first, then gently apply. Reapply as needed after swimming or long days outside.

We chose aluminum bottles intentionally. In a world where we’re already inundated by plastics, we wanted to avoid storing the products we spray directly on our skin, or their fur, in plastic wherever possible. Using aluminum helps minimize concerns around plastic exposure and leaching while better protecting the quality and integrity of the plant-powered ingredients inside.
It’s one more example of how we approach everything we make — thoughtfully chosen ingredients, small-batch craftsmanship, and products designed to feel good in your home, your bag, and your everyday outdoor routine.
What bugs does Mama Bee Essentials help repel?
Formulated to help repel ticks, mosquitoes, no-see-ums, gnats, and other biting insects.
Does it contain DEET?
No. Mama Bee Essentials is completely DEET-free and made without harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrance, phthalates, parabens, or synthetic dyes.
Does it smell like citronella?
Not at all. Mama Bee Essentials has a fresh botanical scent with notes of bright geranium, warm cedarwood, and soft vanilla. Clean and grounding. You won’t find that overpowering citronella smell here.
Can I use Trail Pup every day on my dog?
Yes. The formula was designed for everyday, full-body use and made with ingredients selected to feel gentle and nourishing enough for regular outdoor use.
Why is alcohol-free important?
We chose an alcohol-free formula because alcohol can feel drying and harsh on the skin, especially with frequent, full-body use. Our plant-powered formula was designed to feel gentler, more nourishing, and comfortable enough for everyday outdoor life.
Is this bug spray greasy or sticky?
No. Trail Pup was designed to feel lightweight and comfortable while still adhering to your dogs coat.
Why do the oils separate?
Because Mama Bee Essentials is made with real plant-powered ingredients and no unnecessary fillers or stabilizers, natural separation can happen. Just give the bottle a good shake before use to evenly blend the ingredients and get the best performance with every spray.
How should I store Trail Pup?
For best results, store your bottle in a cool, dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat. Because Trail Pup is made with thoughtfully selected plant-powered ingredients, extreme temperatures can impact the quality and freshness of the formula over time.
We don't recommend leaving your bottle in a hot car for extended periods, especially during warmer months.
How long does Trail Pup last?
For best results, we recommend using your bottle within 18 months of purchase. Because Mama Bee Essentials is made with plant-powered ingredients, freshness matters. While the product may still be usable beyond that timeframe, we recommend using it within 18 months for optimal scent, quality, and effectiveness.
